Ava and Hayden have been together since high school, and their wedding day was such a reflection of the steady, joyful love they’ve built over the years. They got married at The Historic Post Office in Hampton, VA, one of the most charming venues I’ve been to. It has this beautiful blend of classic character and cozy spaces that felt perfect for their day.
The morning started with the girls getting ready together...painting nails, doing makeup, helping zip up dresses. It felt like pure girlhood in the best way! Ava also had a first look with her dad that was super sweet and emotional, and then a private vow exchange with Hayden that I was lucky enough to photograph. Just the two of them, tucked away from the noise, sharing promises. It was a quiet moment, but one I’ll never forget.
Their ceremony was led by their youth pastor, which made it feel extra personal and meaningful. Their families were so full of life and love. Everyone was excited and fully present.
After the ceremony, we stepped out onto the patio for portraits. The weather was perfect with warm light and just enough breeze. We did family photos, bridal party shots, and then gave Ava and Hayden some space to just be together before heading back inside.
The rest of the night was all about celebration. Good food, heartfelt toasts, group dance circles, and the kind of laughter that carries across a room. These two were surrounded by so much love, and I feel so grateful to have been a small part of it.
