There’s something really special about photographing couples who’ve already lived a little life together. Hannah and Brynn got married last year, and for their one-year anniversary, we met at sunrise at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to capture some beautiful portraits.

It was quiet all morning. Just us, the gardens, and that soft early light that makes everything feel calm. We wandered through the paths, found pockets of color starting to shift from summer into fall, and took our time with every moment. No pressure, no timeline, just genuine connection and a lot of laughter in between.

Post-wedding sessions like this are some of my favorites because they take away all the rush of a wedding day. You can slow down, be fully present with your partner, and make photos that genuinely feel like you. No tight timelines or distractions—just the two of you soaking in the moment and celebrating your love all over again.

I love offering this as part of my top wedding packages. Every couple deserves the chance to soak it all in without the wedding-day chaos. A bridal portrait session is your excuse to dress up again, explore somewhere beautiful, and just celebrate being married.
